WHAT WE DO

Our foundation organizes discussion, events, and conferences for people of all walks of life who want to be reinvigorated by refreshing, respectful political dialogue and action.

NOTES

The party system in the United States at present is not open, is not accountable, is not democratic, and is not responsible to the common weal. What we see in the United States is more in the nature of a monopoly by two major parties which, as parties, are very similar and who work together to deny access to other voices, other parties, across the whole spectrum of political ideas, programs, and platforms, from up to down, from left to right.

One thing we need to be clear about from the start. With respect to politics, GHQ is dedicated to open, democratic, accountable political party systems that are responsible to the commonweal.

The journal is not a promoter of a particular partisan political party; for example in the manner of Green Pages which goes to bat for the United States Green Party and is an organ of that party. We do not fit that role. Nor could we, even if we wanted to, since GHQ is published by the Green Horizon Foundation, to which tax deductible donations can be made under Section 501 C 3 of the Internal Revenue Service code. This prohibits us from partisan promotion of a specific political party.

Getting back for a moment to the statement above that we are dedicated to open, democratic, accountable political party systems that are responsible to the commonweal. We really mean that. It is our contention that the party system in the United States at present is not open, is not accountable, is not democratic, and is not responsible to the common weal. What we see in the United States is more in the nature of a monopoly by two major parties which, as parties, are very similar and who work together to deny access to other voices, other parties, across the whole spectrum of political ideas, programs, and platforms, from up to down, from left to right.
