Indications of hope as we enter the new year
Posted by Steve Welzer on 12/31/06The Tuscaloosa Cooperative Association (TCA) welcomes participation on our e-list by individuals and families interested in: Community-Supported Agriculture; permaculture; geothermal and solar energy; cohousing; ecovillage development; and sustainable living in general. The list will serve as a forum for free and open discussion of these topics. You don’t have to be an Alabama resident to participate.
For local folks, we hope you’ll get involved in the effort to create an ecovillage and/or cohousing development in or near Tuscaloosa, Alabama. We currently call this development “Polis,” after the Greek word for city-state. Our models are:
. EcoVillage at Ithaca
(http://www.ecovillage.ithaca.ny.us)
. Champlain Valley Cohousing
(http://www.champlainvalleycohousing.org)
. Earthsong Eco-Neighborhood
(http://www.earthsong.org.nz)
Take a look at our links page, files, and photos for vast loads of additional information, including possible site plans, house designs, community charters, and much more. And check out the videos on the links page!
